This past summer we took the kids camping and hiking up A.F. canyon. On one of the many hikes we did, Korey stopped to talk to a couple on their way up the trail we were just finishing. He asked "where are you going?" They replied "to the top, we are going to camp by the waterfalls in the wildflowers!" That made me laugh. I turned to Korey and said we don't need waterfalls and wildflowers just a king size bed and a shower. We are simple like that LOL!

Clearly deficient!
So it has been almost a year since my last post, so clearly I am deficient in the blog area. It has been a crazy year! I started this blog so that I could remember all of the things about my crazy years, but if I never write them down than this blog won't help a bit. So where to begin.......We decided last year in February that we needed a change for the better in the school department so we put the kid's names on a lottery list at Mountainville Academy. It is a charter school in Alpine. Long story short, they all were accepted. It was a really hard and scary thing to do. Freedom has some really great things about it, but I just felt like we needed something more. Freedom has great scores and Mountainville has received some amazing achievement awards. I know Mountainville's scores are slightly below Freedom's but after all do I care about overall scores or about my children's scores? Well that is what it came down to is, my children's scores. Mountainville practices the 7 habits of highly effective people and I have seen major changes in my children. I guess you never know 100 percent if you have made the right decision, but the kids seems to be growing in more areas than I have seen before! On a side note the kids have really loved the uniform thing. I thought that would be our biggest problem, but to my surprise it helps them feel normal just like all the other children. I am so proud of my children and their choice to come on this journey with us!
