Christmas 2012

Christmas was a fun and expensive one this year. Let me start with some of the holiday highlights. We went to my grandparents house in Payson the Sunday before Christmas. My Grandma always makes a ton of food and the best food really. She has turkey, potatoes, jello salad, rolls, pie and so much more. She always insist that she make it all and won't let us bring a thing. Grandpa called ahead and told the kids to bring their snow clothes and he would pull them around the farm with the 4 wheeler. We have had so much snow this year and so the kids had a blast. Then Grandma goes over board with the gifts and it is a wrapping paper frenzy. The kids really love this part of Christmas and so do I. I feel sad when I think of this day being gone. I may not see Grandma and Grandpa Wood very often but I really enjoy them when I do. I need to be better about going down at least once a season. Another highlight was the 12 days of Christmas. We were chosen by a family to be the recipients of the 12 days of Christmas, each night for 12 nights a small gift appeared at our door with a small Christmas message. The kids really looked forward to it every night. We felt very loved and it made the season so fun. We want to do it to someone next year so that we still have something to look forward to every night leading to Christmas. Korey got an entire 2 week break from work this year. It was so fun to be around him everyday, all day. He pulled the kids around the neighborhood on the sled with the 4 wheeler multiple times (even on New Year's Eve at 9 pm in the dark). He played battle ship with the kids. We went to Planet Play on New Year's Eve day and raced on the go carts. He is a great Dad. My kids adore him. He is so helpful and dependable.
Ok let me fit Christmas in here. Christmas Eve is usually so fun but this year wasn't. We went to my parents house at 7 and when we walked in we had just missed a fight between Jessi, Levi, Tiffany and Joe. So Joe left Tiffany there and said he would come for her later. The night was tense and stressed and over very quick. I have to step behind my large concrete fence of a boundary to keep from losing my mind. On a side note my parents were very good to my kids (like always) and gave Brinkley the Taylor Swift CD, shirt, pants and make up and McKinnon got The Avengers DVD, legos, pants and a shirt. Aniston got the movie Brave and the Brave doll as well as a shirt and pants. Dylainee got a Minnie Mouse Boutique and a Minnie Mouse outfit. Korey and I got money (too much money). Thanks Mom and Dad.
Christmas morning was fun. The kids were tired and slept till 800. We went downstairs and opened presents. Santa left a convertible, red BMW motorized car for Dylainee. As well as a baby stroller, clothes, a potty watch and some games. Aniston got a pink motorized scooter, clothes, vinyl sign for her room, perfume. McKinnon got a 22. A gun that I know nothing about. He also got a gun case for it. Brinkley got an X box and a few games that came with it. She also got some pictures for her room. Korey and I got a 60 inch flat screen and a new stand. Merry Christmas! Next year it will be simpler, but I say that every year.
